Represented by Gallery Priveekollektie.<\/p>\n<p>bio<\/p>\n<p>Peter Macapia is an artist, architect and philosopher whose work explores geopolitics and space.\u00a0 He has taught at Columbia University, The New School for Social Research\/Parsons, The Southern California School of Architecture, and Pratt Institute, as well as internationally in Paris, Delft, and Tokyo.\u00a0 He is a visiting critic at Columbia and Yale and the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including the Presidential Fellowship from Columbia University where he received his PhD.\u00a0 He is currently working on the origin of witness in ancient Greek law, the concept of force in political philosophy since the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century, and the problem of justice in the work of Michel Foucault for which he held seminars at Brooklyn Public Library\u2019s Central Branch.\u00a0 Currently he teaches advanced architectural design and political philosophy at Pratt Institute.\u00a0 His housing studio, The Spatial Logic of Public Housing, and his Architectures of Abolition focus on questions of space and social and racial justice and equity.\u00a0 His seminars Power and Space and Critical Discourses on Race, Gender, Sexuality and Space focus on relations between knowledge production, spatialization, and their coordination relative to different forms of power relation.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/petermacapia.com\/studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Macapia_lg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1313\" width=\"314\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/petermacapia.com\/studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Macapia_lg.jpg 1231w, https:\/\/petermacapia.com\/studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Macapia_lg-800x897.jpg 800w, https:\/\/petermacapia.com\/studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Macapia_lg-768x861.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peter Macapia (cv): native of Vashon Island in the Pacific Northwest, lives and works in Brooklyn New York.
